Home Care Package

Are you eligible for, or currently receiving money, from the Government under the “My Aged Care” Home Care Package Program? You can use this allowance from the government to pay for in-home caregiver services or in-home nursing service today!

A Commonwealth Government “My Aged Care” Home Care Package (HCP) provides you with a daily amount of money, that you can use to pay for in-home caregiver services, in-home nursing services, and many other support services that you need to stay living comfortably at home with dementia or other health concerns. You may be required to contribute a co-payment, depending on means-testing. A HCP may be the best starting point to keep living at home, where you feel most happy and secure.

If you are currently receiving HCP money from the government, you would have signed an agreement with an organisation to ‘hold & manage’ that money for you. This is called a ‘Home Care Package Provider’ (“Provider”).

Although you need a Provider to manage your HCP account, the choice is yours how you spend that money! This is called Consumer-Directed Care – you are in charge of how that money is spent.

Many Providers are ‘brokers’. They do not provide their own services, and they are experts at connecting you to services in your area. Many of these ‘broker’ Providers have the word ‘connect’ or ‘community’ in their name. This reflects what they do, they connect you to private and public services in your community to meet your care needs.

We work will all types of Providers. If you would like to invest your HCP-money into Home Care Assistance’s in-home caregiver or in-home nursing services, but your Provider has not spoken to you about our services yet, no problem. There are hundreds of in-home caregiver services in this area; your Provider may not have had time to tell you about our high-caliber services yet. Simply let your Provider know that you want to Home Care Assistance in-home caregiver services, give them our 0430 130 227 phone number, and your Provider will arrange our services. Under the government’s Consumer Directed Care laws, your Provider is obligated to procure services on your behalf just the way you like it! Just Received a Home Care Package, but don’t have a Provider?

If you have a HCP assigned to you, and you are planing to invest most of the HCP-money into our in-home caregiver or nursing services, then we recommend you simply use us as your “Provider”!

Yes, Home Care Assistance is a Commonwealth Government Approved HCP Provider.

If you invest most of your HCP into our services, then we offer the lowest management fees we are aware of in the Northern Sydney Health District. We will coordinate up to 2 other support services (gardening, spring cleaning, exercise-physiologist falls-prevention exercise programs, chiropractor, or transport services are the most commonly needed services to remain living at home comfortably with dementia or other age-related health concerns). We have lived in the Northern Sydney district, both in the Lower North Shore and the Northern Beaches, for 20 years, so we know the services and value for money in this area inside out.

If you sign an agreement with Home Care Assistance to ‘hold & manage’ your HCP account, then, as a government-approved Provider, we are always obligated to manage your HCP according to your wishes! If at anytime, you wish to use your HCP-money to purchase in-home caregiver services from another company, or simply wish to spend on other types of support services, no problem, we always honour your choices. We can connect you with all the services you need in your local area, we would just charge higher management fees at that time.
